New Residence

The design concept for this new residence was to organize the main rooms of the house along a spine, allowing uninterrupted panoramic views of the bay and of San Francisco beyond. The rooms of the house were developed as a series of separate "buildings", placing focus on the unique architectural character of each room. Examples of this are the 2-story kitchen with clerestory windows, and the living room with its stained wood cathedral ceiling. The simplicity of the details and finishes - such as the plaster, wood and stone surfaces of the interior, and the wood and copper awnings and trellises of the exterior - further accentuates the individuality of each space.
