Acanthus Architecture & Design is an architecture firm that specializes in the design of traditional and historically inspired custom residences.

While working within a variety of historical styles, the firm is dedicated to designing new homes, additions and renovations that are both beautiful and practical, and characterized by a careful attention to detail. By embracing the use of natural materials, traditional construction methods and sustainable building practices, we strive to create finely crafted homes that will provide years of lasting enjoyment for our clients.

We work closely with clients to accommodate their needs and work within their budgets. Our goal is to provide creative and thoughtful solutions that are sensitive to each client's unique vision of their project.

Through our collaboration with well-respected contractors, consultants and craftspeople, and through the development of carefully detailed construction drawings, we are committed to ensuring a final product that meets our clients' expectations.

Dan Mancini - Principal & Project Architect

Dan Mancini is a licensed architect with over 20 years of architectural experience. For more than 15 years he has been involved exclusively with the design of a variety of traditional building projects, including custom residences, remodels and historic renovations.

Dan received a Master of Architecture degree from Yale University, and a B.S. in Architecture degree from the University of Virginia. His academic pursuits have earned him a grant from the Graham Foundation for Advanced Studies in the Fine Arts.

Dan brings to the firm an expertise in traditional residential design and detailing, and enjoys conversing within the languages of many architectural styles. He encourages close collaboration with our clients, relying on the strength of his professional skills to develop creative design solutions that satisfy our clients' wishes.

Minh Nguyen - Principal & Project Manager

Minh Nguyen is a designer and project manager with over 20 years of architectural experience. He received a B.A. in Architecture degree from the University of California, Berkeley.

Throughout his career, Minh has designed and managed a broad range of building projects, including custom residential, commercial and institutional projects, as well as retail stores. Relying on a pragmatic and detail oriented approach, Minh strives to create simple solutions to complex project challenges for our clients. He also brings a strong technical background in support of the firm's commitment to design excellence.

Among his achievements, he has been involved with work receiving the prestigious Progressive Architecture Award. Minh is a certified Green Building professional available to assist our clients' desires for sustainable design solutions.
